The Frank Lloyd Wright Sumac Vase reproduction is an exact replica of the original in its detail but on a smaller scale (this height 13.5" as opposed to the 23 1/2" of the original). The vase was designed for the Dana House (1902-04, Springfield, Illinois). The ornamentation is a single vertical abstract Sumac motif, the recurring theme used throughout the house. This Frank Lloyd Wright Sumac Vase is handcrafted and hand-glazed in high quality ceramicware and fired to enable the vase to be used to contain water whereas the original was porous and would have required a liner.
