Detailed Description
Founded in 1861 in the town of Schramberg, Germany, the watchmaking company Junghans adopted as its motto: "Taking tradition into the future." Junghans started by manufacturing watch parts, but five years later began producing its own watches. Between 1957 and 1962, it created watches and clocks in a simple, stylish design, in partnership with Max Bill, a student of Walter Gropius and contemporary of Le Corbusier and Mies van der Rohe. Designed by Max Bill in 1962, this watch has become an icon of modern design. 25 jeweled Swiss made ETA 2824-2 automatic movement. Polished stainless steel case. Width is 39mm excluding crown; Thickness is 10mm. Convex highly domed plexiglass acrylic crystal. Case back bears the Max Bill signature. Calfskin strap, polished stainless-steel back and clasp. Made in Germany by Junghans.
